There is a major advantage to using plastic margarita glasses that should not be overlooked. There are several occasions that will arise, or parties that you will throw where plastic would be a much better choice than the alternative of glass.
Some of those situations would be large parties or parties with children.
Also, since a lot of margarita parties and get togethers will be around pools and water, glass is prohibited, and for good reason.
If glass breaks and gets in the pool, it is next to impossible to locate and get out without a major overhaul which includes draining the pool and cleaning it.
Since the more people you have together, and the more you drink, the higher chance of glass falling and breaking, obviously it becomes more and more likely. When you go with plastic you simply avoid these issues.
Should you go with disposable?
The plastic margarita glass you go with is also debatable on which is the best, since some people prefer to get heavy duty plastic glasses, and some prefer the easier, albeit more expensive option of disposable plastic glasses.
These might be the better option when you are throwing a one-time, very large party where people might take the glasses with them, or you simply don’t know everyone.
View it as a one time expense and if it makes sense, go ahead with the disposable option.
